It has a Mohs hardness factor of 7 and is a member of the Quartz family. Strawberry Quartz is a relative new comer to the crystal world having only been discovered in the last quarter of the 1900's so it doesn't have the history or legends surrounding it that other crystals do. However, because of the uniqueness of its appearance it has quickly become a favourite of collectors and jewellery makers alike.
