ABOUT STRAWBERRY QUARTZ
Strawberry Quartz is quartz that has inclusions of pink to red minerals such as hematite, lepidolite or geothite. It gets its name from these mineral additions that appear similar to strawberry seeds. It was first discovered in the iron mines of Cumbria, England, but has since been found in large deposits in China and Brazil as well as Russia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Madagascar and South Africa. Strawberry Quartz is a relative new comer to the crystal world having only been discovered in the last quarter of the 1900's so it doesn't have the history or legends surrounding it that other crystals do. However, because of the uniqueness of its appearance it has quickly become a favourite of collectors and jewellery makers alike.
